Azerbaijan Invited for OPEC + Meeting in Vienna

Azerbaijan intends to consider the invitation and coordinate its participation in the meeting.

Azerbaijan has received an official invitation for the 173rd meeting of the Council of Ministers of OPEC to be held late November in Vienna, Zamina Aliyeva, spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy, told Trend Nov. 20.

Aliyeva added that Azerbaijan intends to consider the invitation and coordinate its participation in the meeting.

Implementation of the OPEC + deal on oil production reduction, increasing production quotas and extension of the OPEC + deal are planned to be discussed at the meeting. The meeting will be held in Vienna on November 30.

In December 2016 in Vienna, 11 non-OPEC countries, including Azerbaijan, agreed to curtail oil output jointly by 558,000 barrels per day. The agreement was signed for the first half of 2017, and on May 25 it was extended by late 1Q18.
