Iranian Boat Sinks in Persian Gulf

The boat was carrying rice from Kuwait to Bandar Ganaveh when it sank near Norouz Oil Wells.

 

A small Iranian freighter boat, carrying rice, sank in the Persian Gulf on Monday, said a local official.

'The boat was carrying rice from Kuwait to Bandar Ganaveh when it sank near Norouz Oil Wells,' said Vaheed Salehi.

Salehi said, 'There were six people on board who were rescued from the incident by fishers from Hendijan, Khuzestan Province, southwestern Iran.

The cause of the incident is not clear yet.
