Iran Non-Oil Exports Hit $19 bn over Past 5 Months

Three billion dollars of the revenue from oil, gas, and condensates have entered the economic cycle of the country.

The governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) said that the total non-oil exports reached 19 billion dollars in the first five months of the current Iranian year (beginning on March 21).

“Three billion dollars of the revenue from oil, gas, and condensates have entered the economic cycle of the country and the remainder 16 billion dollars will enter soon,” Abdolnaser Hemmati said on Friday.

Referring to the Foreign Exchange Deals Integrated System locally known by its acronym NIMA, he added, “To date, total two billion euros have been supplied in NIMA, 80 percent of which is provided by petrochemical manufacturers.”

Hemmati asked non-oil producers to join NIMA, stressing that the CBI and currency exchange centers in addition to NIMA provide Iranian people and companies with sufficient currency required for their various needs.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the 13 billion dollars assigned to importing staples, medicine, and medical equipments and said that the import of these commodities is ongoing.
